Martin
(Marty) Bilowich
- President & Chief
Operating Officer
Mr.
Bilowich has over 20 years of health care management
experience and was one of the co-founders of Health
Network One (HN1) and has served as the Company’s
President and Chief Operating since it began
operations in 2001. He has also spear-headed the
growth and evolution of HN1 from being a start-up
operation to now managing over 1.3 million covered
lives through Network Management Agreements with
various regional and national health plans. Mr.
Bilowich has also directed HN1’s acquisition of assets
from various key provider network organizations
including: VIVRA, Eye Management, PhyMatrix (including
PCMC, Urology Consultants of South Florida and
Breathco), and VitaCare. Prior to Health Network One,
Marty was a Senior Vice President with HS1 Medical
Management, a full-service licensed Third Party
Administrator (TPA) and affiliated company of HN1. In
this capacity, he directed the Network Development and
Provider Relations/Contracting functions for the
Company and was also responsible the day-to-day
management and operations of the Company’s 12 owned
and/or managed medical practices. Before working for
HS1 Medical Management, Marty has also held senior
management positions with Caremark, Inc., Columbia/HCA
Hospital Corporation, and Ernst & Young’s Health Care
Consulting Group. Mr. Bilowich earned both a master's
degree in Business Administration and a master's
degree in Public Health from Tulane University. He
also earned a bachelor's degree in Business
Administration from the University of Iowa. Mr.
Bilowich is a Diplomate in the American College of
Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and a member of
Leadership Broward.
Karen Chewning - Vice President
Karen
Chewning has over 18 years of health care management
experience, joining Health Network One (HN1) in 2001
as the Network Director of Eye Management, Inc.,
(EMI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of HN1. Karen’s
career began at EMI in 1989 where she began as a
Member Service Representative, growing with the
organization in position and responsibility until its
acquisition in 2001 by HN1. She has expanded her
network specialties to Urology, Orthopedics, and
Gastroenterology. These networks are currently at risk
for over a quarter million lives in South Florida. She
was promoted to the position of Vice President of
Network Operations of HN1 in 2007 where she supports
Senior Management in the goals of the specialty
networks of the organization.
Ms.
Chewning earned a Master's Degree in Health Services
Administration from Florida International University.
Her bachelor's degree was earned in Psychology from
Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. Ms.
Chewning is an active member in the Honor Society of
Phi Kappa Phi.
Kevin Graver - Director, Provider Services & Operations
Mr. Graver has worked in the health plan/managed care industry for nearly 25 years. Prior to joining Health Network One, he was with the Memorial Healthcare System and prior to that, he was the East Coast Pension and Health Director for the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) for 10 years, working out of Miami, New York City and LA. In that capacity, he oversaw East Coast operations, established and managed a Call Center in NYC, was liaison to the Board of Trustees and did the majority of writing and public speaking for the company.
After obtaining a Business Management degree from Lehigh Carbon College in Pennsylvania, Mr. Graver worked for both Prudential Insurance and United Healthcare in numerous operational areas, including Member Services, Claims, Provider Relations and Credentialing. This gave him a solid background for his next position as Director of Operations for FPA Medical Management, a Miami MSO.
Carla Friant - Provider Relations
Manager
Mrs.
Friant has over 19 years in the health care industry.
In her current position with Health Network One, she
manages a full staff of Provider Relations
Representatives as well as oversees the day-to-day
operations of the Company’s Provider Relations
functions. The operations of the Provider Relations
Department include the contracting and managing of
Primary Care, Specialist, Ancillary, Facility and
Hospital providers for Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid
and PPO agreements. The Provider Relations Department
also educates providers with regard to the policies
and procedures of each of the Company’s contracted
health plans and monitors to ensure that various
compliance and quality indicators are maintained by
all providers that are on Health Network One’s panel.
Prior
to joining Health Network One, Carla was the Director
of several Florida Diagnostic facilities that were
owned by a New York based corporation. As the
Director, Carla managed the full staffing for all of
these facilities. Her other responsibilities included
the marketing of the centers to the local provider
communities and the negotiating of contracts with
various Commercial, PPO, Medicaid and Medicare health
plans on behalf of these facilities.
Cecilia Menendez - Network Manager
Ms.
Menendez has been with Health Network One, Inc.(HN1)
for over seven years. She was promoted to Network
Manager for the specialty networks of Chiropractic,
Dermatology and Podiatry services in 2007 after
several years as an In-House Provider Representative.
She oversees the operations of these provider networks
and acts as liaison for all relevant matters between
the providers, HN1 and/or health plans. Cecilia came
to HN1 through its acquisition of Eye Management, Inc.
(EMI), an Ophthalmology provider network, where she
held the positions of In-House Provider Representative
and Executive Assistant.
Ms.
Menendez earned her Bachelor's degree in Business
Administration from the University of Miami, FL.
Raphael Giraldez - Network Director
Mr.
Giraldez has worked in the health care management
field for over 20 years and has been with Health
Network One (HN1) since 2000 and most recently serves
as Network Director for the company’s Therapy provider
network. Mr. Giraldez has directed the development of
this division from a start-up to well over 1,000
contracted Physical, Speech & Occupational Therapists
and the management of over 800,000 covered lives
across the state of Florida.
Prior
to joining Health Network One, Mr. Giraldez was the
President of Health-Net Group for over ten years; a
multi-specialty medical provider network offering
marketing and contract negotiating services to
risk-bearing MSOs/IPAs. Under Giraldez’ direction,
Health-Net Group also provided financial contestation
services for over 150 primary care physicians and
developed and customized PC software projects to
automate administrative and contracting requirements
for multi-specialty networks.
A
strong advocate of maximization of capitated dollars
without compromising quality of care, Giraldez has
superb intermediary capabilities between managed care
plans and centers, addressing all NCQA, JCAHO and HCFA
requirements. He also continually networks to stay
abreast of the latest regulations, trends and
innovations.
