Premier Eye Care, a Health Network One company, is pleased to announce the addition of Candace Ellis, O.D., FAAO, to its growing clinical leadership team. Dr. Ellis joins Health Network One with a wealth of experience in ocular disease management, further enhancing the company’s commitment to managed eye care services as it expands across the U.S.

An integral member of Premier’s Clinical Management Team, Dr. Ellis will contribute to the oversight of medical administrative functions, clinical guidelines, and performance improvement initiatives. She will review medical necessity referral requests in adherence to Medicare, Medicaid, health plan, and clinical guidelines.
Dr. Ellis brings extensive clinical expertise in both private practice and clinical settings. As the former owner of an optometry practice, she has spent the past three years serving as an independent optometrist in Ft. Lauderdale. Her experience also includes providing comprehensive and post-surgical care at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and the Lasik Vision Institute. Dr. Ellis specializes in comprehensive eye exams, post-surgical management for cataract, glaucoma, and refractive surgery patients, and specialized contact lens fittings for patients with unique needs.
She earned her bachelor of arts degree in chemistry at Indiana University at Bloomington. She went on to receive a doctor of optometry degree with advanced studies in anterior segment disease from Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University where she was inducted into the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society. She completed her ocular disease residency at Baltimore Veterans Medical Center, and further honed her training by obtaining a fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry.
